      <image:title>Who Are We? - SEAN</image:title>
<image:caption>I’ve always believed that if you have the capacity to do something good for someone else, you should. That was the driving force behind this fundraising initiative. I have volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House making dinners for families, and I've known people who have been able to use the House when their kids were sick. I have also volunteered at the Children’s Hospital in some of their inpatient programs, so I wanted to give back and find a way to encourage others to support Ronald McDonald House. If you ask anyone that knows me well, they will tell you I am a total pushover when it comes to dogs! That is where my desire to raise money for AARCS comes from. It's fascinating to look back and see how everything has progressed over the years. When I was preparing to do Climb For The Cause, the prospect of summiting Heart Mountain three times in one day seemed impossible; Who would have thought that in 2021, Jacob and I would summit Prairie Mountain three times in one day just for a workout! I’m lucky that I found an awesome group of like-minded people to do these things with and it has been a cool way to push past my own perceived limits. If you’re reading this, I hope it might inspire you to set aside any doubts or outside opinions that are holding you back. Push your limits and who knows? Maybe you’ll surprise yourself by utterly blowing past what you thought was possible!</image:caption>

He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>

<image:caption>When Sean approached me about participating in the 4x4x48 challenge in June 2021, the only possible answer was yes! Go for a jog in the woods every few hours with some rad people? Sounds like my kind of fun! The icing on the cake was the fact that we would be raising money for a couple of great organizations. I have a special place in my heart for organizations like AARCS. Growing up, my family spent time volunteering for pet adoption agencies in the cities we lived in. We even fostered a few animals and had two rescue dogs of our own, Lucky and Oreo. I currently have another rescue, Newt, who has been a lot of work but makes me happy every day. The opportunity to help out an organization that gives lost, stray, and often abused animals a second chance is one I’ll take as often as possible. My experience during the 2021 fundraiser was nothing but fun and positive, despite the physical discomfort, sleep deprivation, gut issues, and everything else that comes along with pushing your limits. I can’t wait to see what kind of wild ideas we come up with to expand the scope, reach, impact, and even difficulty of this annual event!</image:caption>

      <image:title>What Do We Do?</image:title>
<image:caption>Each year we dream up a new challenge in which we test our limits both physically and mentally. We use these challenges as a way of raising money and awareness for two charities that are very close to our hearts. At the end of the day, the adversity we face during these challenges is short term. The muscle cramps, the joint pain, the blisters, the bruises, the sleep deprivation and even the hallucinations are all temporary, but the impact we have can last a lifetime. We are not paid to do this. We do not receive accolades, nor do we seek them. We do this because it is the right thing to do and because we believe that it is everyone’s responsibility to leave this world a little better than they found it. This is our small way of creating change and making a difference.</image:caption>
